Today, as we both recognized and celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, we took time to listen to some of his eloquent and powerful speeches.  What follows is an excerpt of one of his writings that is unbelievably poignant, given that we are hours away from seeing the change that Dr. King so beautifully inspired in the world.

“One of the great liabilities of history is that all too many people fail to remain awake through great periods of social change.  Every society has its protectors of the status quo and its fraternities of the indifferent who are notorious for sleeping through revolutions.  But today our very survival depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant, and face the challenge of change.”

We pledge to be awake, even when dreaming the change we want to see in the world.  And we vow to partner with you to dream the change you want to see in your world.
